Jefferson County Human Services Department

Organizational and Programmatic Study, 2007

E jj Olson & Associates worked with Schenck Business Solutions and CGS to perform a management audit of the Jefferson County, WI Human Services Department. Final recommendations included a proposed major reorganization of the $30 million dollar department to consolidate thirteen program units into five divisions with the goal to enhance efficiency, cost effectiveness, and to better address the needs of the citizens of Jefferson County.

Badger Prairie Health Care Center

Design Staffing and Market Segmentation Study, 2005

E jj Olson & Associates worked with Engberg Anderson Design Partnership and Wipfli LLP to develop a design staffing and market segmentation study for Dane County’s Badger Prairie Health Care Center, the county operated nursing home in Verona, WI. The planning process included an evaluation of current programs, utilization trend analysis, interviews with staff and key informants in the community, a projection of total bed need, an exploration of additional programs to expand the existing continuum of care, and the development of facility design scenarios.

Fighting Back Inc.

Development of a Coordinated Plan to Prevent Substance Abuse in Milwaukee County, 2005

E jj Olson & Associates worked with Fighting Back Inc. of Milwaukee to develop a coordinated plan to prevent substance abuse among youth in Milwaukee County. The process included an analysis of substance related trends in the study area, as well as the examination of best practices in public health prevention practices. The final plan included recommendations to strengthen collaboration among prevention programs in the community.

Milwaukee County Department on Aging

Face of Aging in Milwaukee County, 2004

E jj Olson & Associates worked with the Milwaukee County Department on Aging to develop a demographic profile of older adults in Milwaukee County. The profile compared 1990 Census data with that of Census 2000 to identify socioeconomic trends within the older adult population in the county.

Dane County Area Agency on Aging

Aging Case Management Program Review and Management Audit, 2004

E jj Olson & Associates worked with the Department of Human Services and County Board in Dane County to conduct a program review and management audit of the aging case management program, a locally funded program providing assistance to vulnerable older adults. The program review included a review of the demographics of aging in the county, a profile of program utilization during a three year period, an analysis of administrative processes and program policies, and a projection of program utilization and costs into the future. The final report included recommendations to improve information systems and reporting consistency across the network of providers found throughout the county.
