Edward Olson
Edward jj Olson, MS

Edward jj Olson, President of E jj Olson & Associates, has been involved in health and human service programs for more than 30 years. As the deputy director responsible for planning and research of an inter-governmental planning agency, he was instrumental in designing many of the existing social support programs for children, youth, families and adults funded by local, county, and federal government moneys.

As a hospital vice president for a large medical center, Mr. Olson developed, implemented and was the principal investigator for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Hospital Initiatives in Long Term Care Programming which was located at the Geriatrics Institute of Sinai Samaritan Medical Center and was cosponsored by the University of Wisconsin Medical School-Milwaukee Clinical Campus.

He has consulted with local, state and federal officials, been a member of numerous national policy boards, served as chairperson of the Milwaukee County Commission on Aging, administered more than $4 million dollars of foundation funds for health and social support programs, and currently serves as a board member of numerous non-profit organizations.

Mr. Olson has worked as an architect and planner in Stockholm, Sweden and taught at the University of Illinois, Chicago Circle Campus, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He has served as the factotum of the Spring Conference, an education futures think tank. In addition, he lectures nationally and internationally regarding future health, human service and built environment issues.

Mr. Olson was awarded the 2005 Scott Greer Award by the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee in recognition of his innovative and ongoing postgraduate contribution to urban affairs.

Dr. Panagis
Constantine Panagis, MD

Constantine Panagis, Vice-President of E jj Olson & Associates, is a board certified internist with sub-specialties in preventive medicine and public health. Prior to his public sector role in health care policy and service at the state, county, and municipal levels, Dr. Panagis conducted a private practice of internal medicine in Milwaukee. He received his medical training at the Milwaukee County General Hospital and other county institutions.

As Director of the Milwaukee County Chronic Disease Program, Dr. Panagis played a key role in reviewing the chronic mental health care patients at the Mental Health Complex and in the Milwaukee County Infirmary. During his tenure with Milwaukee County, Dr. Panagis served as a consultant to the Milwaukee County Department of Social Services and provided in-service training on an ongoing basis. He served as Commissioner of Health for the City of Milwaukee for fifteen years. In this capacity he developed numerous innovative health programs, designed and implemented community public health plans, and worked with public health agencies throughout the state.

Dr. Panagis has diverse experiences in preventive health, geriatrics, disabilities programming, community health, education and health promotion programs as well as primary health care services. He is a member of the Wisconsin Public Health Association and has served as its president. He also is a member of the American Public Health Association, and served on the board of directors of the US Conference of Local Health Officers. Dr. Panagis is a former faculty of the Medical College of Wisconsin.
